Hey hey, a new about me so you know who you’re supporting!

I’m Roxanne. I live in Blenheim with my 3 daughters, a husband, 2 cats and 2 fish. I also feed wild birds and hedgehogs. 

I’ve been crocheting for 13years now, I know this because my mum taught me while I was on maternity leave with my first daughter when we lived in the freezing south. At this point I had studied Garment construction and Pattern drafting at Poly Technic but I was always drawn to the colours in the wool department of the craft supplies store. 

This website is a combination of my two businesses, Roxanne Rose Design – where I create handmade dolls and toys, soon I’ll be offering doll making kits and patterns as well. I am always pleased to create a custom piece for you. 

And Purple Flamingo Fibre Art – which possibly is why you’re here, because you’ve tried to find a fibre arts website but found a doll site instead.
Hand dyed NZ yarn, all dyed by myself in my home. I use top quality fibre reactive or acid dyes and my favourite yarns from NZ suppliers. I try to use New Zealand grown and processed wool because we produce some of the BEST wool in the world and I feel we need to support our economy as much as possible and NOT send fibre off to other countries to process! I love bright colours and myself am a bright individual. 

I am always keen on custom orders, whether it’s for a sweater lot of a current colourway or a complete custom colour, give me a message! OR a custom made crochet piece, woven or anything in between
